인천영종소방서(서장 류환형)는 1일 오전 을왕리해수욕장에서 119시민수상구조대 발대식행사를 갖고 공식적인 활동을 시작했다고 밝혔다.
여름철 해수욕장 및 물놀이장소의 안전사고 예방을 위한 119시민수상구조대는 8월 26일까지 영종도 관내에 119시민수상구조대를 을왕리, 왕산, 무의도 하나개, 장봉 옹암해수욕장등 4개소에 고정배치 하여 여름철 해수욕장 안전사고에 대비할 계획이다.
119시민수상구조대는 총 52명으로 구성되어, 여름철 수난사고 다발지역을 중심으로 대 시민 수상안전의식을 고취하고 피서객 물놀이 안전 확보, 각종 수난사고로부터 시민들의 물놀이 안전사고 예방을 위해, 7~8월 2개월 동안 을왕리해수욕장등 4개소에 배치되어 물놀이 안전 확보에 앞장선다.
앞서 피서철 해수욕장 내에 배치될 소속 구조구급대원으로 구성된 수난구조요원 및 한국구조인협회 및 의용소방대원으로 구성된 수변안전요원 자원봉사자를 선발하여 스킨스쿠버, 심폐소생술, 기본응급처치법, 물놀이안전지도 등 사전 교육훈련 실시한 바 있다.
인천영종소방서 관계자는 “여름철 해수욕장 안전관리는 소방뿐만 아니라 지자체, 경찰, 해안경비안전서 등 관계기관과 협력이 무엇보다 중요하다 해수욕장 운영 중 지속적인 회의를 통해 관련기관별 해수욕장 수상·수변을 교차순찰 등 상시 해수욕장 안전관리에 힘쓰겠다.”라고 말했다. [영종뉴스 우경원 기자]
