4월 13일 서울 종로 탑골공원에서 진행된 3.1운동 및 임시정부수립 100주년을 기념해 한국시니어스타협회(대표 김선)가 기획하고 주최했던 영조의 환생 및 대한민국 위민 33인 대상 행사가 대통령직속 기념사업회의 공식 국민참여 인증행사로 등재됐다.
이번 행사를 기획한 장기봉 시니어예술감독은 100주년을 맞이하는 2019년, 지금까지와는 다른 새로운 민족 정기의 원천을 찾아내고자 우리 역사 중 조선시대 세종 못지않은 새로운 번성의 기틀을 만든 영조대왕의 정치철학을 대내외에 스토리텔링화한 퍼포먼스를 통해 지금을 살아가는 모든 국민들에게 보여주려 했다고 밝혔다.
조선시대 군주 중에 세종대왕과 정조대왕만이 부각되는 시점에서 그간 묻혀져 있던 영조대왕의 통치력을 찾아내고 사색당파로 국가존망의 위기를 탕평책과 위민정치로 훗날 정조대왕의 태평정치를 이뤄내게 하며 조선시대 르네상스를 만들어낸 영조의 위업을 이번 3.1운동 100주년 임시정부수립 100주년 기념에 맞춰 기획 및 연출했다.
특히 이번행사는 서울의 중심 종로의 탑골공원에서 많은 내외국민이 함께 역사를 알리는 교육적 행사로서의 의미도 컸다. 이번 행사를 만들어낸 한국시니어스타협회는 봉사를 바탕으로 만들어진 인생2막 예술인들이 함께한 행사라 더더욱 의미가 크다고 밝혔다. [영종뉴스 김미혜 기자]
