[영종뉴스 우경원 기자] 인천광역시는 조택상 균형발전정무부시장이 13일 영종에 위치한 인천MRO산업기반 영종엔진정비 클러스터 예정지를 현장방문 했다고 밝혔다.

이날 방문은 지난 5일 인천시와 대한항공과의 국내 항공정비산업(MRO)활성화를 위한 협약체결에 따른 것으로, 조택상 부시장은 대한항공 엔진정비공장과 2025년 인천에 터 잡을 신규공장 부지, 대한항공 운항훈련센터를 차례로 방문했다.

조택상 정무부시장은 “대한항공의 3,346억 원이라는 통 큰 투자만큼이나 MRO단지에 대한 기대가 크다”라며 “역수출 방지와 지리적 이점을 활용한 신기종 유치뿐만 아니라 항공우주분야 인재양성을 통한 대규모 일자리 창출로 이어질 수 있도록 시 차원의 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.

이에 대한항공 관계자는 인천시 차원의 운항훈련센터 방문은 처음이라며 공장건립 뿐만 아니라 인력확보를 위한 다양한 유인책을 마련하는 등 세계적인 엔진정비 클러스터로 거듭날 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다고 말했다.

한편, 대한항공은 2025년까지 3,346억 원을 투자해 영종국제도시에 항공기 엔진정비 클러스터를 구축하기 위해 이전계획 수립 등 관련 절차를 진행하고 있다.

JSSI is seeking a well-qualified Repair Coordinator to be based at our Hebron, KY warehouse. This position can also be performed remotely.*

Position Summary:

JSSI Parts & Leasing (JPL) owns 50,000 lines of stock to support JSSI’s Hourly Cost Maintenance Programs, our Supply Chain Solution Customers, and 3rd party customers. The Repair Coordinator’s mission is to find cost-effective solutions to Overhaul or Repair returned or stock cores and then create and manage all repair orders to provide a competitive advantage for the JPL team for both cost and stock availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Find Cost-Effective Solutions:

Maintain an understanding of repair trends and technology.

Balance cost of repairs with market value to determine components to repair.

Work closely with suppliers to identify and develop solutions to reduce repair costs.

Understand approvals required to execute repairs (e.g., DER, FAA)

Become an expert on repair sources, including Airframe, OEMs, and 3rd party repairs

Create competitive Requests for Quote (RFQ) and negotiate prices with suppliers to obtain the best available prices while maintaining configuration, quality, and delivery requirements.

Find sources for piece parts used in repairs- identify parts to stock to save costs.

Identify expenses required to be billed back to customers; negotiate with suppliers to minimize impact to customers.

Improve Availability of Material:

Understand demand requirements to determine which components should be repaired. Monitor stock of cores and serviceable material compared to usage to determine when components need to be sent for repair.

Work with internal team to identify additional trends to adjust repair forecasts.

Manage repairs at suppliers to ensure timely return.

Manage Quality:

Hold suppliers accountable for failures of repaired parts, managing warranty and claims.

Identify trends with failures to develop supplier improvement plans or re-source repairs.

Day to Day Activity/Reporting:

Respond to all requests received from internal customers (Buyers, Technical Advisors, Product Line Representatives, Sales)

Maintain regular communication with and provide pro-active status updates to internal customers

Use Component Control Quantum to ensure costs are transacted correctly and bill to customers as required.

Establish supplier performance metrics, monitor performance, and evaluate suppliers on a regularly scheduled basis.

Establish, maintain, and report metrics on cost savings.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of aviation repair management, including familiarity with repair sources.

Strong time management and organization skills

Strong MS Excel skills

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation or Engineering field

Knowledge of Component Control Quantum

Experience with business aviation

Knowledge of airframe and power plants.
