Youth as a culture of the Korean Cultural Association' Senior Culture Program: Happiness to learn together as a culture, and youth to enjoy together

The Korean Council of Cultural Affairs (President Kim Tae-woong) is transforming the lives of elderly people by supporting cultural and artistic fellowship activities such as clubs and art organizations made up of elderly people. Started as a pilot project in 2005, Youth contributes to the creation of a vibrant old life by not only strengthening the cultural and artistic capabilities of the elderly individuals, but also by expanding social relationships through the support of cultural arts fellowship activities and promoting the voluntary participation of the elderly in culture and art.

Challenge of "blue choir" which wants to sing forever

Since last year, the "Haeparan Choir" of the Busan Namgu Cultural Center, selected for this program, will challenge the 2019 Silver Culture Festival - Find shiny stars, which will be held at the Busan Civic Center Small Theater on July 12. Through the "Haeparan Choir", elderly people who have been passive in cultural and artistic activities have grown into active cultural and artistic artists who voluntarily participate in the contest, and the elderly are overcoming the prejudices of the community that they are passive. In particular, from this year, we will further develop into programs that will promote the joy of cultural and artistic activities by planning additional external activities, such as gift donations, and provide opportunities for cultural sharing through performance activities. "Members over the age of 60 with diverse histories are so happy and happy to gather at the Namgu Cultural Center once a week to practice," said Yi Pil-young, a member of the Senior Group, "And i want to challenge various performance performances and contribute to society through volunteer activities."

"Starlight Choir" containing the city of Bucheon, my home town

Founded in 2009, the Bucheon Cultural Center's "Follow-up Senior Nursery Rhyme Choir" is actively working on the name of the choir last year, with the meaning of "Eun-sung" by Mr. Mok Il-shin, a lyricist from Bucheon City and the lyricist of the nursery rhyme Bicycle. Through "visiting concerts", we are visiting local welfare institutions, elementary schools, etc., and are working to celebrate local cultural content and the achievements of local artists. Elder Kim Hye-sook said, "I'm happy to find the meaning of life singing and sparkling with the members of the Starlight Choir, and I want to sing and shine with the members for a long time to come." In "Culture As A Youth", we actively support various elderly cultural life fellowshipactivities throughout the country, including senior choirs, dance companies, magic organizations, and various cultural and artistic service groups. The Korean Council of Culture and Cultural Association said it hopes to overcome the feeling of alienation of the elderly through the support and proliferation of cultural and artistic fellowship activities composed of elderly people, while at the same time enjoying a prosperous old age through exchanges between the same generation. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Park Yang-woo) and organized by the Korean Council of Cultural Affairs, "Youth as the Culture of The Elderly Culture Program" organizes four-unit projects, such as support for elderly culture and arts education, support for senior culture and arts clubs, and the visiting culture, providing elderly people with the opportunity to experience cultural arts and cultural arts and cultural arts activities to pursue a sense of personal and social achievement.
