인천시(박남춘 시장)는 청년들의 구직활동지원을 위한 ‘구직청년 드림체크카드(이하: 드림체크카드)’ 선정자에 대한 오리엔테이션 행사가 6월 21일과 24일 이틀에 걸쳐 제물포스마트타운에서 성황리에 개최되었다. 본 행사는 취업을 준비하는 청년들의 일정과 편의를 고려하여 2일간 오후 2시, 저녁 7시로 나누어 총 2회에 걸쳐 진행되었다.
이 날 행사에는 인천시가 지난 11일 최종 선정·발표한 2019년도 「인천시 구직청년 드림체크카드」 선정대상자 280명을 대상으로 드림체크카드 사업취지와 지원금 사용범위, 구직활동보고서 작성요령 등에 대한 안내와 인천시에서 지원하는 청년대상 프로그램 안내 등으로 진행되었다.
또한, 드림체크카드 협력기관인 신한은행과 신한카드 관계자도 참여하여 청년들에게 카드발급 및 사용 관련하여 자세한 안내로 청년들의 궁금증을 해소하였으며, 청년들의 편의를 고려하여 인천시 소재 13개 지점의 신한은행에서 드림체크카드 사용을 위한 통장 및 카드발급이 가능하도록 하였다.
드림체크카드는 미취업 청년에게 취업활동비를 지원하기 위해 도입한 사업으로 구직활동과 관련된 직·간접비를 매달 50만원씩 6개월간 최대 300만원을 지급하며, 지원 기간 중 취업 시 취업성공금도 지원한다. 지원금은 구직활동을 위한 교육비, 교재 및 도서구입비, 응시료, 면접 준비비용 직접적 비용으로 사용이 가능할 뿐 아니라 교통비나 식비 등 간접비로도 사용할 수 있다.
올해의 경우 당초 250명에게 지원할 예정이었으나, 선정심사 결과 취업의지가 강하고 구직활동지원이 필요한 청년들에게 더 많은 지원의 필요성을 느껴 280명까지 확대 지원하게 되었다. 가구소득, 미취업기간, 인천시 거주기간, 구직활동계획서 평가 등의 심사과정을 거쳐 선정된 280명의 대상자는 오리엔테이션 이후 드림체크카드를 발급받아 7월 2일부터 구직활동에 필요한 지원을 받을 수 있다.
조명노 청년정책과장은 “올해 처음 도입된 드림체크카드 사업이 졸업 후 장기간 실업상태로 경제적 ·심리적 어려움을 겪고 있는 청년들에게 희망을 주고 취업을 도와줄 수 있는 마중물의 역할이 될 수 있기를 바란다.”고 밝혔다. [영종뉴스 우경원 기자]

The Dream Check Card is a business introduced to support unemployed adolescents to pay for employment activities. The grant can be used not only for educational expenses for the job search, textbooks and books, but also direct fees for examination fees, interview preparation expenses, and indirect expenses such as transportation expenses and food expenses. However, as a result of the selection process, the younger generation who have a strong willingness to work and need job search support felt the necessity of more support, 280 applicants who have been selected through examination process such as household income, unemployment period, Incheon city residence period, evaluation of job search plan, etc., will receive a dream check card after the orientation and receive the support needed for job search from July 2nd.
