Animal protection group Humane Society International is launching a "Name Me" campaign to give edible dogs a new name

Humane Society International ( HSI), an animal protection organization, will launch a Name Me voting campaign to give edible dogs a new name on the Official Facebook page of the HSI Korea Branch by 29 March. Although the population of raising dogs like a family has exceeded 10 million, there is still a false stereotype that "edible dog" is a dog and strange dog. The word "edible dog" itself instills the perception that "dogs are there to be eaten" and "dogs raised to be eaten", and their poor and inhumane breeding environment is also a problem. To improve this awareness and reality, HSI is running a "Name Me" campaign. The campaign, titled "No Edible Dogs," aims to spread the perception that every dog in the world is not discriminated against and that they are being loved and protected. As its first activity, HSI runs a campaign to give special names to dogs suffering from "edible dogs" through a national vote. The campaign, which takes place on hsi's official Facebook page, is open to all participants, and some of the participants will be selected to receive an eco-bag depicting adorable dogs. "HSI has rescued more than 1,800 dogs from domestic edible dog farms, most of whom have been adopted from the United States, The United Kingdom, and elsewhere since they were rescued, living a happy 'dog' life," said Kim Nara, campaign manager for HSI Korea. In the future, we would like to thank the dog's family for their interest and support so that they can receive a new and adorable name, not an "edible dog", and wish for a happy life." Since 2015, HSI has been helping to rescue dogs from edible dog farms and helping farmers work in a more humane way, and has been working on a variety of campaigns to ban dog food. Last year, the company launched the I Love Tosas campaign to improve awareness of the dog dog, one of the largest breeds on an edible dog farm. HSI has also closed 14 edible dog farms in the country so far and rescued more than 1,800 dogs. With the recent political and popular movement to end the edible dog trade becoming more active, HSI hopes that the program will be operational at the national level in the future and serve as a way to gradually end the dog food.

Campaign details introduction

To participate in this voting campaign, simply access the official Facebook page of the HSI Korea chapter, click the link in the poll post, and vote on one of the four name candidates. The four name candidates are 1) our dogs (meaning that the dogs trapped in us are reborn as 'our dogs'), 2) nuri dogs (meaning to enjoy the whole world like nuri, the pure word of the world), 3) salido (meaning 'let's save dogs waiting to die on edible dog farms'), 4) After participating in the voting, you can leave your contact details, and a total of 200 people will receive an eco-bag with adorable dogs.
